On the programme

Segway Tour through the exciting surroundings of the Halde Haniel, including a ride to the top of the hill.

We begin the Segway tour at the parking lot of the Haniel shaft facility, the highest permanently accessible spoil heap in the Ruhr region. This is where the safety briefing takes place. The tour then starts along the former railway route of the Haniel coal mine towards Jacobi/OB.

From there, we pass along the edge of the park cemetery and continue to Museum Quadrat. The route takes us around the ponds of the city forest, through Bischofssondern, and back to the parking lot. By now, we're more confident on the Segway and ready to tackle the climb up the Halde.

At the top, we explore the Halden Cross, the amphitheater (Bergarena), and the colorful railway sleepers by Ibarolla at the summit.

We’ve seen and experienced a lot on this Segway tour. Now we return home, happy and full of new impressions!

Requirements for the Segway Tour:

  • Your body weight must be between 45 kg and 118 kg.
  • You must be able to step up onto a platform without assistance.
  • For safety reasons, you may not suffer from epilepsy, thrombosis, heart or circulatory diseases, or be pregnant in order to ride a Segway.
  • Please bring a valid ID or passport.
  • Participation in the tour is at your own risk.
Important information

Wearing a helmet is mandatory on our tours. Feel free to bring your own. Alternatively, you can rent one for €2. We always have enough helmets available on-site, and they do not need to be reserved in advance.

Participation Conditions:

  • The minimum age is 14 years.
  • Participants must weigh at least 45 kg and no more than 118 kg.
  • In case of heavy rain, tours will not take place for safety reasons. You can schedule a new tour date. Vouchers remain valid.
  • Riding under the influence of alcohol or other drugs is prohibited.
  • Helmets are mandatory. Helmets will be provided upon request.
  • Participation during pregnancy is not allowed.
  • Anyone suffering from heart rhythm disorders or circulatory conditions may only participate with written approval from their physician.
  • Participation in a tour is at your own risk.
  • Parents are responsible for their children.
