On the programme

This wine tour will take you to the heart of the Louis Balincourt Champagne House in Châlons-en-Champagne. Our bilingual and experienced guide will introduce you to the fascinating history of the Châlons Crayères (Chalk Quarries), which were formed in the Cretaceous period (the time of the dinosaurs). The exploitation of the quarry by man dates back nearly 2000 years, and you will discover its history up to the beginning of the 19th century when champagne found an incomparable setting there to carry out its long aging.

While visiting our production and storage site, we will also introduce you to the Champagne production process around historical production tools.

The experience will end with a tasting of Champagne Balincourt (Brut Séduction).

At the end of the visit, you can browse the "Champagne's Got Talent" boutique, which brings together around fifty gems from Champagne!

Notre visite des caves du champagne Balincourt a été très intéressante. J'ai déjà visité quelques caves ces dernières années mais cette visite m'a permis d'en apprendre encore plus sur le champagne, son histoire et l'histoire de ce lieu. La visite s'est faite par le propriétaire des lieux. Il a donc pu nous expliquer le chemin qui l'a mené à racheter et restaurer ce lieu pour en faire le magnifique endroit que nous avons visité. Le tout agrémenté de quelques anecdotes intéressantes. Ce fut une visite bien agréable (nous étions un groupe de 8) ponctuée par une dégustation de son champagne.
