A Forest Bath for Reconnecting with Nature, Discovering Sylvotherapy
Enjoy an outing in the heart of the Vosges Mountains to reconnect with nature. Explore the wonderful mountain landscapes and breathe in the forest air to recharge yourself.
The forest represents our nurturing mother, a sacred space and a divine gift meant for us humans. It is a healing haven where Mother Nature amazes us, stimulates our curiosity, and encourages us to discover her. Working in synergy with us and our innate ability to heal, it forms the foundation of forest medicine. In the woods, we reconnect with nature and embark on a journey towards health and well-being. Forest bathing allows us to bond with nature through our senses.

Practical Information
Sylvotherapy
Sylvotherapy is a true moment of connection with nature but is unfortunately often limited to just hugging trees. Through various meditation, creative, or activity exercises, nature can offer us peace and inner calm. Sylvotherapy, or the art and science of forest bathing (in Japanese Shinrin Yoku: forest bathing), is a Japanese concept taught by Dr. Qing Li, an immunologist and founding member of the Japanese Society of Sylvotherapy. According to scientific articles published (Green Care Wald), this practice helps us slow down, relax, improve our mood, or in one word, achieve a general state of well-being. Thanks to the tranquility of the forest, the unpolluted air, and the trees, you will feel a real state of serenity. Try it and see for yourself.
Origin
Latin "Sylva" meaning woods or forest.
Humans have always centered themselves in the forest. Many natural elements are sacred: water with holy water or the fountain of youth, stones, rocks, menhirs, and trees, including the tree of life, family tree, and Christmas fir.
In recent decades, awareness of the importance of returning to nature, which humans have neglected, has grown.
In the 1930s, sylvotherapy was used in sanatoriums or balneotherapy centers. In the 1980s, French, Russian, and Japanese scientists began studying the effects of trees on human health. The official origin dates back to 1982 when Japan's forestry agency included shinrin-yoku (equivalent to sylvotherapy) in its recommendations for excellent hygiene of life. Sylvotherapy arrived in France in 2012.
What do trees do for us?
What does it bring us?
How does it work?
With a forest bath (sylvatic), you allow yourself a calm break, lowering your pace. It's time to reconnect with your five senses. Your sight will be stimulated by different colors, light variations, and shapes. Develop your attention through the sounds of birds, wind, and leaves.
Touch the different textures nature offers. Breathe the purified air enriched with well-being hormones produced by trees. Taste everything nature provides: berries, buds, young leaves. You will experience a gentle reconnection with yourself:
Which trees? And why?
Trees are living beings; don't forget to ask their permission before connecting with them.
