On the programme

Perugia’s and Umbria’s gastronomic traditions are also widely celebrated. However, with so many delicious specialties to choose from, it can sometimes be difficult to know what to try. That’s why we created a Perugia food tour that offers an overview of the city’s most authentic flavors, from carefully selected cured meats and local cheeses to traditional dishes and handmade pasta prepared according to time-honored Umbrian recipes.

POSSIBLE TASTINGS:

  • Board of Charcuteries: You'll get to taste Umbrian prosciuttos beautifully paired with local red wine. Pecorino, is also included considering that it its a staple ingredient in many traditional Umbrian dishes.
  • Torta al Testo: We will also try the locally-known Umbrian bread, in its sandwich form, which has been a staple in the region for centuries. This sandwich will be filled with local delicacies.
  • Strangozzi: As the type of pasta from Umbria, we cannot miss the chance to try it out paired with tomato and ragu sauces which beutifully pair with its light texture.
  • Gelato: Get refreshed by an Italian Gelato to end the tour, try out the local chocolate flavours and mix it up with some fruity options.
  • Ciaramicola: Typical Easter time dessert it is one of many local dessers and pastries you'll be able to try out in Perugia with us. The pastry is donut-shaped with, at its core, a cross with 5 ends, which represent the 5 "rioni" in Perugia.
  • Coffee: How does an Italian end their lunch? With an espresso of course!
