On the programme

Our Trastevere Food Tour unfolds in the historic Trastevere area and will escort you among the dishes most loved by the Romans, their strong flavours and the famous wines from Lazio.

In the different stops and in every food shop or restaurant, you will try the best preparation from the territory.We will taste a selection of Roman cheeses accompanied by sundried tomatoes, the traditional rice supplì, Roman pizza or the famous Prosciutto di Norcia with bufalo mozzarella cheese and a dish of the famous pasta alla carbonara. Finally, we will have a cone of the best artisanal gelato in Trastevere.

POSSIBLE TASTINGS:

Hand-made cookies -crunchy biscuits, with simple ingredients and an unforgettable taste! We will taste them in an old cookie's factory from 1920.
Board of cheeses and cured meats - we will taste different types of cheeses accompanied by a glass of high-quality wine in a place famous for its cheeses and meats in the very centre of Rome.
Roman pizza - the famous ‘scrocchiarella’, thin and crunchy, since centuries amuses the Romans. Unique in its kind, the main street food of the capital is a raised dough impossible to replicate without the historic recipe. We will taste one of the best pizzas in town, in an ancient boutique.
Supplì - rice ball with meat sauce or other typical garnishments such as cheese and black pepper. They feature a crunchy crust and are deep fried: this is a must try!
Pasta alla carbonara - intense flavour, typical from Rome and prepared with Italian bacon, pecorino cheese and black pepper. Hint: international carbonara is different from the traditional Italian one! We will taste it in one of the most important Gourmet restaurants in Rome.
Artisan ice cream - one of the best in town prepared with natural ingredients and presented in innovative and stunning flavours.
