Discover the Spirit of Schengen!
Schengen is considered the cradle of a borderless Europe: travelling without border formalities from one country to another, be it by foot, by bike, or by car. Discover with an experienced guide how it all came about and why it is so important today.
The Schengen Agreement laid the foundation for a borderless Europe, allowing millions to travel freely across member states and marking a major step forward in the process of European integration.
Our official tour guides will take you on a captivating journey through European history and unity. You’ll discover the striking Monument to the Schengen Agreement, the flags of the Schengen Area, the symbolic Columns of Nations, and two original segments of the Berlin Wall — powerful reminders of a once-divided Europe. A true highlight of the tour is the visit to the historic boat "Prinzessin Marie-Astrid Europa", where the Schengen Agreement was signed on 14 June 1985.
Please note that the tour mainly takes place outdoor and that this offer does not include a visit to the museum.
The museum is open to everyone (without a guide), tickets are available at the ticket office on site. The visit of the museum is suitable for individual travellers or groups of up to 10 people, as there is limited space available and larger groups visiting the museum at the same time may cause congestion at check-in and at individual stations.
