On the programme

Turin food tours are the perfect way to discover the city where chocolate is a true art form.

The Turin Sweet & Chocolate Tour takes you through elegant streets, historic cafés, and renowned confectioneries, unveiling one of the richest and most refined sweet traditions in Italy.

With this tour, you’ll immerse yourself in Turin’s aristocratic atmosphere and long-standing passion for chocolate, joining locals in their favorite spots while tasting iconic desserts and drinks that have made the city famous worldwide.

POSSIBLE TASTINGS:

  • Gianduiotti – Gianduiotto is a chocolate created in Turin in 1852, recognizable by its ingot shape and incredibly smooth texture. Each piece is individually wrapped in gold tinfoil and made with a unique blend of Piedmont hazelnuts, cocoa, and sugar.
  • Bicerin – A traditional layered drink made of espresso, hot chocolate, and whole milk or cream, served in a glass. Dating back to the 18th century, this iconic beverage was even praised by Alexandre Dumas in his letters.
  • Marron Glacé – A precious Piedmontese confection made from chestnuts candied in sugar syrup and glazed. Invented after sugar became available in Europe, marron glacés were once the favorite dessert of the Savoy royal family.
  • Pinguino Ice Cream – During the warmer season, you’ll taste this legendary artisanal gelato coated in crunchy dark chocolate, created in the very confectionery where the Pinguino was first invented as a local contribution to Italian gelato tradition.
  • Cremino – A classic Piedmontese chocolate made of three layers: two outer layers of gianduia chocolate and a flavorful inner layer that can range from coffee to hazelnut, lemon, and more. Cube-shaped and wrapped in tinfoil, each cremino reveals its flavor through a distinctive band.
  • Artisanal Sliced Chocolate – Cut directly from a giant chocolate bar, you’ll be able to choose your favorite flavor from a wide variety of artisanal creations.
  • Artisanal Gelato – In a family-run gelato laboratory, you’ll see the equipment used to craft Turin’s most beloved gelato and, of course, enjoy a tasting of their handmade flavors.
